Stijl = Dutch for Style
A few summers ago I was in Amsterdam, and at the Rijksmuseum, I was struck by the Dutch Masters’ paintings, and so inspired by their glimpses into 1600s daily life. It made me want to create that artistic beauty in my everyday life somehow.
And since I’m hopeless with a paintbrush, I turned to a craft I know well: tablescapes. But I love to set a stylish scene for a party well beyond plates and flatware on a table, with plenty of flowers and plants, hanging elements, and unexpected details. I take a creative approach to the pieces that then make up a cohesive whole, resulting in a still life that might just resemble a great painting.
A beautiful end product is what I always strive for, and I’m here to create a bespoke setting for you. While you’re out skiing, I can be at your cabin creating an Aprés Ski Winter Wonderland. As you’re driving up to Tahoe in the spring, I’ll be arranging peonies and chilling Prosecco for your garden party. Give me a few photos from your trip to Portugal, and I’ll adorn the table with tile-printed linens and trays of ginja in tiny chocolate cups so your guests will feel as though they too spent a holiday in Lisbon.
